Safin De Coque, born Darlington A. Akanite, is a virtuoso Nigerian hip hop artist and the son of Nigerian highlife legend, Chief Oliver De Coque. Safin De Coque was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He’s been in the industry for some years now.

Safin De Coque has worked with notable artists in Nigeria like Phyno, Tolu (Project Fame) and Ogene Sound Super Of Africa. A graduate of Theatre Arts from the prestigious University Of Lagos, (UNILAG), Akoka. His choice of music genre is hip hop and his recent work hip hop-styled “Identity (Remix)” is his creative adaption of his father’s late 1970s hit track “Funny Identity”. He has released several singles as well as a couple of mixtapes.

He continues to honor his father’s legacy by promoting Nigerian music and culture through his music. Safin De Coque is one of the best rappers not just in Nigeria, but Africa in general. Safin De Coque is currently signed to Virgin Birds Entertainment and he’s working on his LP.
